The creation of this painting started back in 2019 using acrylics. When I was just 14 years old. I sat alone in the back room of the studio where I used to learn art, opened a book, and found "Head of a Peasant Woman with Greenish Lace Cap by Vincent van Gogh".

I knew right away that this painting moved something in my heart. The way her eyes stared right into my eyes as a teen gave me a feeling of a calling for help. A feeling of sadness, emptiness, and loneliness. Something dark that I couldn't really explain, but could feel.

I grew up as a very quiet, introverted soul. All through my childhood, I had one or two friends. I didn't speak much outdoors, but where I felt at home, I was confident enough to let myself have fun. Seeing a painting of a woman who seemed so miserable, whose eyes appeared to be asking for help but who couldn't speak out about what she felt, made me feel like she was someone I could relate to.

That's where the process began. I tried to express my feelings through a painting. Loneliness, a cry for help. I couldn't really speak, but I could paint. It was in that moment that emotions came alive for me.
